50 Cent Calls Tupac Movie ‘All Eyez On Me’ Trash

Despite all the hype surrounding the film All Eyez On Me, 5o cent took to his social media to let fans know what he thinks … the movie is trash.

I’m a big 2 PAC fan, I just don’t think his story was done well he deserved better. Check it out, the shit felt like I was watching a life time TV movie in a theater. I wanted to change the channel. The new edition story was better then that shit. SMH

This was the followup from his initial post, where fans had so many more questions about why he hated the film. Calling it a “Lifetime movie” is pretty bad. The movie features newcomer and Tupac look-a-like, Demetrius Shipp Jr., and in many scenes Demetrius is recreating iconic Tupac videos and performances.

50 elaborated in a comment: “John Singleton said it was wack, I had to see it for myself. Go check it out, you gonna be mad as a mother f-cker. I want my money back now!”

Singleton, who had worked with Tupac on Poetic Justice, was initially tapped to direct the film back in 2015 but stepped down due to creative differences with the studio, stating that people were not being respectful to Pac’s legacy. Benny Boom took the reigns from there.

In an interview with Hot 97’s Ebro, Boom defended his project. “It’s unfortunate that John took that position,” he responded. “There’s a lot of directors taken off projects in Hollywood. It happens. They sign on to movie… [there’s] creative differences… then the directors go on and they do something else. The unfortunate thing is that John just can’t let it go.”

Benny Boom also pointed out in the Hot 97 interview that Tupac wasn’t a fan of Singleton, and that in some leaked audio recordings, Tupac can be heard calling Singleton a coward.

Who knows how Tupac would really feel, but we’re still laughing that 50 prefers the BET miniseries The New Edition Story to All Eyez On Me.
