Christopher ‘Big Black’ Boykin Dead At Age 45

HipHollywood is sad to report that Christopher “Big Black” Boykin passed away Tuesday morning. Boykin, who starred on MTV’s hit series Rob & Big alongside pro skater Rob Dyrdek was 45.

No official cause of death has been reported, but multiple people connected to Boykin say they believe it was a heart attack.

Boykin was Dyrdek’s best friend and bodyguard on their reality show, which ran from 2006 to 2008, and also later appeared on Fantasy Factory.

The duo’s relationship became strained during filming of the show, but they later reconciled. Dyrdek has yet to speak about his dear friends passing, but his Ridiculousness co-stars Chanel West Coast and Steelo Brim have taken to social media to express their sadness.

“My brain can’t truly comprehend this,” said Brim. “As soon as we met we became friends. Genuine, Funny, Family Man, just an Overall Great guy. May God Rest his soul and he make everyone in heaven smile like he did on earth! LOVE!  #RIPBigBlack

“RIP Big Black. My heart is crushed,” said Chanel via Twitter. “I’ll remember all the times you made me laugh and my prayers go out to your family.”

Boykin, who served in the U.S. Navy before becoming Dyrdek’s bodyguard, is survived by a nine-year-old daughter, Isis.
