UK’s Annika Allen recently had the chance to sit down with rising actor and New York native, Jermel Howard, and discuss his role in one of the most anticipated biopic films of this year, “All Eyez On Me”, how he got started in the business, his new upcoming role in “Power”, and his rap music tastes.
Jermel Howard details how he originally got his start in the music industry where “there wasn’t really lucrative money rise” for him at that moment but ended up seeking out another route after “meeting someone who was into the film thing” and his life changed from there.
Howard landed his first role in a Burger King commercial. Shortly after, he began booking gigs nonstop until finally gaining his first big time movie role in “The Brave One” where he got to share the tv screen with A-list actors, Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. Nowadays, he just wrapped up filming season 4 of the 50 cent produced scripted show, “Power” and is preparing for the release of “All Eyez On Me”, and is still receiving exposure from his role in the marvel web series “Luke Cage”.
“It’s exciting to be apart of something that’s that powerful cause it’s a top show, one of the top shows”, Howard gushes when speaking on his role in the hit drama “Power”.
Howard plays the role of a character named “Brains” on the popular Starz show. He also recalled back to how working with 50 cent is. He says that “he was literally everything that I thought he was gone be” and that he is “just a dope dude when it comes to business and well-rounded and well grounded”.
