Any rumors involving a ghostwriter penning on behalf of Remy Ma were shut down on Thursday night. HipHollywood went directly to Remy to ask her about the gossip started by Nicki Minaj and she didn’t mince words with her vehement denial.
“Papoose has never written a rhyme for me,” an agitated Ma responded. “My pen works perfectly fine. No one has ever even insinuated that anybody besides myself has written my rhymes until I called out someone else on not writing their rhymes.”
“You can check my history, prior to meeting my husband I’ve been ripping people’s head off in rap and that’s prior to even knowing my husband exists in this world,” she continued.
Nicki and Remy have been trading blows for months now. Their war of words reached new heights when Remy dropped “Shether,” a blistering diss track skewering her eccentric nemesis. “And to be the Queen of Rap, you gotta actually rap / The whole industry know that your shit is a wrap / No, to be the Queen of Rap, you can’t have a ghostwriter / And that’s why this is my house; Flo Rida / Nggas done seen Drake pennin’, Wayne pennin’ and since your first boyfriend left, btch ain’t winnin’” Ma spits on the fiery record.
Minaj followed up with several dull disses of her own, the most recent coming on the forthcoming 2 Chainz track, “Realize.” On that record, Nicki states: “I’ve been winning eight years consistently, at least respect it / Papoose wrote a ‘Ether’ record, but I broke Aretha record.”
We’ll let the rest of Remy’s response to that suggestion play out in the video clip below.
