The hip hop world is mourning the death of Mobb Deep rapper, Prodigy. While many fans are remembering the late rapper by playing his hit tracks, Prodigy’s fellow rappers in the industry took to social media to honor him.
Drake shared multiple posts on Instagram and expressed his sadness after learning another legend was taken from this earth too soon. In one photo, the Canadian rapper simply wrote,”damn.” Another image read, “Infamous.” And his final post was captioned: “Thank you for everything you gave us and left us with.”
LL Cool J also shared a heartfelt message, writing on Instagram: “I can’t believe you’re gone homie. Rest in everlasting power and peace. @prodigymobbdeep love you King. May the almighty embrace your soul.”
Nicki Minaj expressed her shock following the news. She wrote on IG, “Don’t want to believe he’s gone. Omg. RIP.”
Prodigy died on Tuesday following complications with sickle cell anemia. According to his publicist, the 42-year-old had been taken to the hospital a “few days ago in Vegas after a Mobb Deep performance for complications” caused by the disease.
Many more stars shared their thoughts on Twitter, including Wesley Snipes who tweeted: “For real n*99az who ain’t got no feelings #prodigy.”
