There couldn’t be a better person to voice the character poop in The Emoji Movie than Sir Patrick Stewart. The legendary actor quite frankly is the sh#t, pun intended, and we let him know it during the recent press junket.
“You said it, everyone else has avoided it,” he joked when we used the expression to compliment him.
So what made the 77-year-old, best known for Star Trek and X-Men, decide to take on the role?
“There was no persuasion,” he explained. “My reps all knew that. It was a no brainer. I excepted the role within a minute of getting the offer.”
In the film, Stewart joins famous voices like Maya Rudolph, Anna Faris, James Corden, Sophia Vergara and T.J. Miller who play’s Meh, an emoji with a malfunction that could spell the end for Textopolis.
Unfortuntately the film hasn’t received rave reviews (it’s got a 0% on Rotten Tomatoes) but we think Stewart, Rudolph and Corden will still have you laughing out loud.
The Emoji Movie hits theaters July 28.
