What an honor. Will Smith and former boxing champion, Lennox Lewis, will carry the casket of the late great Muhammad Ali at his funeral services on Friday.
Smith and the former heavyweight champion will serve as pallbearers alongside six other men. The funeral will be held in Ali’s hometown of Louisville, Kentucky and will include a private burial followed by a public memorial at the KFC Yum.
Following the passing of the social activist, Smith posted on Facebook, “You shook up the World! My Mentor & My Friend. You changed my Life. Rest in Peace.”
Smith played Muhammad in the 2001 film Ali, garnering an Academy Award nomination for his portrayal of the boxer and taking home a NAACP Image Award and MTV Award.
Ali died on Friday, June 3 due to “septic shock due to unspecified natural causes.” He was 74.
